Job Description:

Location: Kansas City Metro Area

We are seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to EPC projects in the power generation industry. This role requires technical leadership, hands-on design execution, and oversight of internal and third-party engineers. You'll collaborate across disciplines to ensure high-quality, timely deliverables while contributing to the development of engineering standards and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead electrical scope for EPC projects, including design execution, schedule and budget tracking, and change management.
  • Perform and review technical deliverables such as one-lines, load lists, equipment specs, grounding, arc flash, and protective coordination studies.
  • Review vendor documentation and support procurement, RFIs, and equipment buyout.
  • Mentor junior engineers and guide design consistency across projects.
  • Support the development of standardized engineering templates, tools, and procedures.
  • Interface with clients and construction teams to resolve issues and deliver high-quality solutions.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in power generation or related industries.
  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of power system fundamentals.
  • Proficient in protective relaying, arc flash, grounding, and electrical studies using industry tools (ETAP/SKM).
  • Strong knowledge of ANSI, IEEE, NEC, API, and related codes.
  • Experience specifying HV/MV/LV equipment (e.g., switchgear, MCCs, transformers).
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • U.S. work authorization required; must pass background check and drug screening.
