Job Description: Evaluate and improve processes in production systems. Maintain reliable and safe process systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, cost and changeovers. Maintain and advance knowledge in process systems and the fertilizer industry standards. Participate in the development and tracking of performance of the process plant. Mentor Junior Engineers and Co-ops/Interns. Collaborate with other engineers to evaluate all plant processes and procedures to ensure they are aligned with Plant requirements. Develop and implement small capital projects to improve plant efficiency, production, safety or other metrics. Oversee catalyst performance, purchasing, removal, installation, and reduction for the site. Identify and analyze complex plant process issues using plant process data. Lead multidisciplinary groups of people to identify root causes of said issues and potential solutions. Participate as a process subject matter expert on large capital project teams. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in process engineering. Of the required experience, must have the following: 3 years of experience conducting engineering calculations and evaluations including orifice calculations, relief valve sizing calculations, statistical analysis, piping system pressure drop, and graphical analysis of process data; 3 years of experience with Data historian tools including PI Process book, ParcView, or similar; 2 years of experience in the refining industry, fertilizer industry, or methanol industry; 1 year of experience in process simulation using Aspen Hysys or similar; and 1 year of experience in API 520 and 521 Relief valve sizing and design.
