Design of mechanical components and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor and Vault 2020 or later. Peer review new designs and adaptations of existing designs. Attend cross-functional design reviews and lead when required. Own small-scale projects and take them from concept to implementation. Obtain buy-in from more senior engineers. Conduct analysis on a specific item or in support of a particular project such as bearing life calculations, timing diagrams, etc. Value Engineer designs to achieve cost targets while maintaining/improving function, under limited supervision. Compiling a machine package (Bill of Material, Drawings, Recommended Spares List, etc.) in accordance with customers specifications. Creation and maintenance of Product Line Bills of Materials. Under limited supervision, support the build and commissioning of Product Line Portfolio by addressing in-house and in-field inquiries related to design items. Under limited supervision, support Purchasing and Production Control by addressing inquiries related to mechanical design related items. Evaluate non-conforming parts, approve substitutions for product line. Full time employment, Monday Friday, 40 hours per week. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field and 3 years of work experience. Of the required experience, must have 3 years of experience in all of the following: Dimensioning and tolerancing technical drawings to ASME Y14.5 (1994 or later) standards (or ISO equivalent standards); 3D solid modeling and drafting software including AutoDesk Inventor, Fusion 360, SolidWorks Solid Edge, or ProE; and Designing parts in compliance with common fabrication techniques in sheet metal shops including shearing, punching, and bending, as well as machine shops including milling, lathing, and grinding. Of the required experience, must have 1 year of experience using document control systems for collaborative design work, including AutoDesk Vault.
