JOB TITLE: Pipe Welder PLANT/DEPARTMENT: Fabrication

IMPORTANT WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: Team Leaders, Manufacturing Engineers, Machining, Process, Paint, and Production Control

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Meets and demonstrates safety in the workplace. Ability to perform advanced welding and fabrication tasks as assigned with minimal guidance or supervision. Ability to meet or exceed routed hours with minimal quality errors. Highly proficient at following and looking up weld procedures, work instructions, and inspection criteria. Demonstrate the ability to meet routed hours with acceptable quality.
MAJOR DUTIES: Welds and fabricates basic to advanced weldments with minimal quality errors (as outlined in LSSI stamping discipline procedure as well as dimensional nonconformance) Work from advanced drawings and job layouts (multiple pages/drawings) Understand and read weld and blueprint symbols Advanced crane operations and rigging - larger, most complex Perform quality checks throughout process Operate hand burn plasma and torch Understand and apply weld sequencing Advanced fabrication techniques and application on larger, most complex Advanced straightening techniques Advanced Tig Welding techniques Assemble, install and repair pipe components according to specifications Train and mentor other employees Other duties as assigned SKILLS/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to successfully complete X-Ray Test

- Long periods of standing, kneeling, crouching, and climbing.
