Plans, designs, develops and oversees the building of aftermarket modifications of motor vehicles to facilitate the transportation of passengers with special needs, including persons confined to a wheel chair or bed. Uses knowledge of mechanical engineering and computerized work aids to analyze data for modification required, and the design and structure of vehicle, to determine feasibility of the modification. Designs components and systems to provide maximum value and function. Prepares detailed drawings and schematics. Directs and coordinates building of modification assembly to ensure conformance with engineering design. Oversees the fabrication and assembly of wheelchair accessible conversions and other vehicle modifications. Conducts experiments and tests on developed components and equipment under designated conditions to ensure operational performance meets design specifications. Alters or modifies design to obtain specified functional and operational performance. Reprograms and recalibrates existing electronic modules to accommodate conversions. Diagnoses and determines changes needed to resolve problems with converted vehicles. Utilizes cutting edge diagnostic tools and equipment (e.g., lasers, cameras, radars, etc.) to identify performance issues and adjustments needed. Analyses wear location, and improves design to increase life span of modification. SEND RESUME TO:
