Responsibilities- Develop solid models and create 2D assembly-level drawings that will become Government Furnished Information (GFI) for new submarine analysis systems.
- Work daily with onsite government Engineers and Project Managers to ensure that information is technically accurate.
- Develop project schedules, create technical reports, whitepapers, and general correspondence.
- Conduct static analyses of mechanical structures or develop solid models to predict stresses and structural performance.
- Assist the Design Team with material selection using proper commercial and/or Military Specifications.
- Conduct Quality Assurance reviews of design and engineering products.
- Interface with customers and government sponsors.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, civil or structural engineering.
- Ability to maintain a DOD Secret Clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance
- Physically capable to conduct ship checks on United States Nuclear Submarines:
- Be comfortable in relatively confined spaces.
- Capable of climbing vertical ladders (20' - 25') within the submarine.
- At least three (3) years business experience in:
- General engineering.
- Working with SOLIDWORKS.
- Working with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Working with Visio Diagram/Flowchart Software.
