Senior Mechanical Engineer
COGS has partnered with, multi billion dollar revenue chemical manufacturing company who are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team. Due to increased market demand, they are in growth mode and expanding! As a result they have introduced a new and exciting position for the Senior Mechanical Engineer.
The job is based on-site in Chicago, IL with salary up to 127K + Bonus
Job Responsibilities
  • Testing and developing innovative equipment solutions
  • Enhancing and optimizing existing machinery
  • Utilizing project management techniques to integrate design elements and budget considerations
  • Maintaining hands-on, supportive roles across multiple facility maintenance and manufacturing teams
  • Assisting plant maintenance teams with advanced troubleshooting techniques
  • Providing on-site support to resolve process issues using continuous improvement and root cause analysis methodologies
  • Ensuring compliance of products and systems with all relevant codes and regulations
  • Preparing monthly reports on routine activities and offering frequent updates on fast-paced projects
  • Generating and managing documentation for capital projects using TPM tools within the EEM pillar and six-step management methods
  • Delivering in-house training for new equipment and processes based on departmental and organizational requirements
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • At least 10 years of experience in chemical or process manufacturing
  • Skilled in creating and reading electrical, mechanical, and architectural drawings using AutoCAD
  • Advanced troubleshooting of mechanical, motion, and hydraulic systems; basic knowledge of electrical systems
  • Familiar with instrumentation devices, PLCs, and their role in system operations
  • Assist in troubleshooting instrumentation devices and PLCs, identifying problem sources
