Role Overview
- Perform mechanical design and engineering tasks for nuclear projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and review design packages, specifications, and technical reports related to mechanical systems.
- Support modifications and upgrades to existing nuclear facilities, including equipment selection and system integration.
- Conduct engineering calculations and analysis to validate design solutions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project success and technical accuracy.
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and constructability evaluations.
- Provide technical support during procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases.
- Ensure adherence to CSA N299, CSA N285, and ASME Section III codes and standards in design and implementation.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working on nuclear power plant projects with knowledge of nuclear industry regulations and best practices.
- Familiarity with equipment such as pumps, compressors, pressure vessels, storage tanks, heat exchangers, HVAC systems, fire protection systems, and piping systems.
- Ability to interpret and apply CSA N299, CSA N285, and ASME Section III codes and standards in mechanical engineering tasks.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licensed in Ontario.
- Experience in nuclear power plant projects.
