Senior Process Engineer
The Process Engineer is a key member of the Engineering team and contributes to process optimization, trouble shooting, and project initiatives of Greenfire Resources Operating Corporation (GROC). GROC is a fast-paced, dynamic work environment, where it is expected to handle multiple projects, with a wide scope of work at the same time.
This role can be either a full time, or a 12-month contract position, with 40-hrs per week based in Greenfire Resources Calgary office, with regular site visits.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Process Engineer Manager
Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Conduct feasibility level process studies to identify the scope of work for development, debottlenecking, management of change, and optimization projects. Including development of scope of work and process design basis
- Support projects by participating in and providing input to key project milestones including: DBM review, design review, PHA, etc.
- Support third party engineering consultants, answering technical questions and providing direction where required. Review and provide input to vendor drawings and documents. Perform process engineering calculations and process modelling as required, to support facility troubleshooting, debottlenecking and projects.
- Support operations with troubleshooting, optimization initiatives, and the management of change program.
- Proactively identify optimization / improvement opportunities
- Develop piping and instrumentation diagrams, line designation tables, equipment data sheets, instrument data sheets.
- Work closely with a variety of internal stakeholders including: Operations, Development, Production, Environment, and Regulatory.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILL SET:
- At least ten years of relevant engineering experience in Oil Sands SAGD technology (CPF and Well pads).
- Must be registered as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
- Familiarity of current standards and codes such as ASME, API, CSA, AER Directives etc., and a fluency with process design software such as Hysys, Flarenet, EDR etc.
- Proven proficiency with analytics, such as process plant data trending/data analysis tools, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- A continuous improvement mindset and the ability to seek greater knowledge and understanding of the systems, processes, and hazards in the workplace.
- Excellent communication skills, both written, and oral.
- Must be legally permitted to work in Canada.
