Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer in the Santa Clara, CA area (hybrid work schedule available) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in designing and shaping the future of advanced industrial, semiconductor, biotech, healthcare, and pharmaceutical facilities for the world's leading high-tech companies. You will work closely with our clients, engineering teams, and other professionals to ensure that projects meet and exceed industry standards. A Typical Day Might Include:

  • Responsible for leading/producing technical project plans, specifications, drawings, and models that meet our specifications and client needs.
  • Responsible for creating, influencing, and finalizing designs involving plumbing; chilled water and heating hot water plants; HVAC design systems; industrial ventilation including scrubbed exhaust, general exhaust and solvent exhaust abatement systems; process piping systems including process cooling water, clean dry air, process vacuum, house vacuum, ultra pure water; industrial soft water; process drainage and waste collection and treatment systems.
  • Will work with Sr. Engineers, Project Managers, and other stakeholders on specific assigned objectives, complex features, and aid in deriving possible solutions to unusual problems.
  • Applies standard design techniques and procedures and exercising judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications to design concepts. Ensure quality control by complying with company and team design and CAD standards.
  • Coordinate needs, designs, and develop an understanding with other design disciplines (Electrical, Structural, Process/Chemical, Architectural, etc.) for design package needs.
  • Effectively lead, direct, and mentor associate engineers and designers, with an emphasis on employee growth, project success, and overall performance.
  • Perform field verifications / site walks to identify, verify, resolve, and incorporate solutions into design packages. May troubleshoot design problems in the field during construction.

Qualifications You'll Need on Day One:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, which qualifies for licensure in the state of practice, is required.
  • An active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of practice or the ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months of employment is required.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, PIPE-FLO, or similar hydraulic modeling software is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated knowledge or experience with designs containing HVAC, chillers, boilers, pump hydraulics, exhaust, process chemicals, wastewater discharge, or other similar mechanical building systems.
  • Experience in chemical distribution systems is a plus.
  • Experience performing field verifications and site walks to identify, verify, resolve, and incorporate solutions into design packages. Ability to troubleshoot design problems in the field.
  • The ability to interface with customers to define scope of work and basis of design.
  • Salary Range: $120,000 - $160,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
