Organization & Role

The Electro-Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the assembly, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electro-mechanical systems used in testing equipment. This role requires a hands-on individual with a strong understanding of both electrical and mechanical systems and a keen eye for detail. Additionally, the candidate will be involved in designing and fabricating test fixtures to support the development and testing processes.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble, install, and calibrate electro-mechanical components and systems, including wiring, motors, sensors, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Ensure that all systems are correctly integrated and aligned according to engineering specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to design and fabricate custom test fixtures that meet specific testing requirements.
  • Utilize CAD software to create detailed designs and work closely with fabrication teams to build prototypes.
  • Evaluate and refine test fixtures to ensure they meet performance criteria and are user-friendly for testing procedures.
  • Perform routine maintenance on electro-mechanical systems to ensure optimal operation.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct functional tests on assembled systems and custom fixtures to verify performance and identify any defects or issues.
  • Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure all products and test fixtures meet industry and company standards.
  • Maintain detailed records of all maintenance, repairs, and modifications performed on equipment and test fixtures.
  • Update and maintain technical documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, parts lists, and fixture design files.
  • Work closely with engineers, providing feedback on system performance, fixture design, and suggesting improvements.
  • Provide technical support and training to other team members and end-users as needed.
Basic Qualifications & Skills
  • 5+ years of experience in electro-mechanical assembly, maintenance, repair, and fixture design, preferably in a manufacturing or testing environment.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, and blueprints.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, including wiring, circuit design, and control systems.
  • Proficiency with CAD software for designing mechanical components and fixtures.
Education
  • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
