Client Details

A forward-thinking small business specializing in advanced electro-optical solutions for defense applications is seeking an Electrical Engineer. In this role, you will play a key part in the electrical design, layout, integration, and testing of complex electro-optical systems and subsystems for defense projects.

Description

The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Participate in all phases of development, from initial architecture concepts to detailed design, system integration, and manufacturing support.
  • Assist senior engineers in creating the overall electrical architecture for complex EOIR systems, and define subsystems for collaboration with other disciplines.
  • Work closely with colleagues in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment, including mechanical, software, systems, and optical engineers, as well as program managers, suppliers, and customers.
  • Conduct detailed schematic designs focusing on:
    • Battery-operated systems
    • Power and signal analysis
    • Analog and digital circuit design, including FPGA and microcontroller integration

  • Assist in evaluating designs through simulations, prototype testing, and requirement verification processes.
  • Identify and troubleshoot design failure modes, providing quick and effective solutions.
  • Offer support to production and manufacturing teams as needed.
  • Prepare and generate documentation for quotes and procurement processes.

Profile

The Electrical Engineer will have MOST of what follows:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, with 2-4 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Knowledge of ECAD tools for schematic capture, layout, and system simulation (e.g., Orcad, Allegro).
  • Practical experience with system integration, debugging, and testing, including basic soldering and the use of test equipment.
  • Experience with electrical design principles and testing in military environments, particularly in analog and digital designs for compact, battery-operated electro-optical systems, is advantageous.
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to interact effectively with customers, suppliers, and other external stakeholders.

Job Offer

The Electrical Engineer will be offered:

  • Competitive base salary
  • Full benefits
