Title:

Intermediate Mechanical Engineer World Trade Center

Client:

The Mechanical Engineer - Inspector will work for our client, a leading civil engineering firm, established in 1999 and recently voted as one of the Top 25 Engineering firms by NJ Biz. This firm has steadily grown based on a solid reputation for providing quality service. The diverse staff includes a team of respected engineers and inspectors throughout New Jersey and New York. Efforts include some of the largest transportation projects in the New York Metropolitan area such as the Raising of the Bayonne Bridge, Tappan Zee Hudson River Crossing, NJ Turnpike Widening, and Fulton Street Transit Center.

Description:

Reporting to the Engineer of Construction at the World Trade Center, the Mechanical Engineer - Inspector will inspect all building construction, maintenance, improvement work at One World Trade Center and 4 World Trade Center. The Mechanical Engineer - Inspector will inspect all mechanical engineering-related improvements, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection as well as architectural renovations and improvements.

Responsibilities:

The Mechanical Engineer will inspect all building construction, improvement, maintenance, and renovation work.

Inspection of all mechanical engineering-related construction and improvements including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection equipment.

Ensure that construction work is performed in accordance with contract drawings, specifications, and all applicable codes and standards.

Ensure that construction is performed in a safe manner and completed on schedule.

Attend progress meetings, final inspections, and document meeting minutes.

Overtime and weekend shifts will be required.

Qualifications:

Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.

In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, a NICET Level III will be considered.

MINIMUM of 3 or more years of experience in construction inspection of related work.

Knowledge of all applicable mechanical components; HVAC, plumbing, sprinklers, etc.

Familiar with construction documents.

Familiar with all applicable specifications and codes.

OSHA 40-hour certification required.

Confined Space certification preferred.

NYC Local Law 52 scaffold certification preferred.

Familiarity with NYC building codes.

Valid driver's license or other government ID required.

Ability to obtain a high SWAC clearance.

Education:

Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar. In lieu of a BSME, a NICET Level III will be considered.
