Our West Geography is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team - this role can be based in our Los Angeles, San Francisco or Oakland office. At Arup, we use the latest design technologies and analytic methods to deliver projects which make a real impact. Sustainability, carbon reduction, and resilience are at the core of what we do. We are looking for a skilled Electrical Engineer who is looking to deliver designs for a wide range of projects including healthcare, laboratories, data centers, commercial and rail.

Job Summary:

  • Lead the design of electrical systems for small to medium-sized projects, ensuring that the design aligns with sustainability, efficiency, and project goals.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contributing to the overall success of the project by ensuring designs integrate well with other systems and disciplines.
  • Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client requirements and industry standards.
  • Oversee the quality of work throughout the project lifecycle, while maintaining regular communication with clients to address their needs and concerns.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers to ensure successful delivery within budget and on schedule.
  • Mentor junior engineers, fostering technical growth and supporting their development through hands-on guidance and feedback.
  • Provide timely feedback and recognition to team members.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering.
  • 6 or more years of experience designing electrical systems for buildings.
  • Ability to manage projects and prioritize effectively; balance assigned work and exceptional organization skills are required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working.
  • Experience with 3D BIM software - Revit MEP.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with design and analysis of renewable and distributed energy systems.
  • Professional Engineering License in US and LEED accreditation.
  • Experience with power system modeling using SKM or similar software.
  • Ability to manage projects of varied scales would be preferred.

Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job performed in Los Angeles is $115,000 and $135,000. Benefits are not included in the base salary range. Summary of benefits are included in this posting with details provided to applicants at the time of interview. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Los Angeles will differ.
