Description: Professional Engineer - Senior Project Manager - Transportation Construction Engineering and Inspection (CE&I)

Office Locations (one position is open for each of the following locations): Meridian, ID & Lewis Clark Valley Office (Clarkston, WA)


Position Overview:

We are seeking a Professional Engineer (Senior Project Manager) to capture and manage transportation CE&I projects primarily for ITD and LHTAC. The project manager position is a key position within J-U-B's corporate structure, providing leadership in capturing and executing projects, while also mentoring and supporting staff. This position will report directly to the Area Manager in either the Meridian or Lewis Clark Valley Office. The person selected for Meridian will generally support clients and projects in the geography related to ITD Districts 3 and 4 and the person selected in the Lewis Clark Valley Office will generally support clients and projects in the geography related to ITD Districts 1 and 2. However, there may a different combination of Districts or projects in other locations that are included as well.

Project Management Roles

Lead a team(s) consisting of a lead inspector, support field staff, and a document controls specialist to oversee and administer full CE&I services on transportation projects in Idaho including federal-aid projects for ITD and LHTAC.

Provide technical expertise in all facets of construction management for surface transportation projects including interpreting plans, specification, estimates, and critical path schedules.

Provide oversight of all documentation and document controls for projects including federal-aid.

Develop scope, schedule, budget and contract documents for J-U-B, for client review and approval.

Manage project performance based on the approved scope, schedule, and budget.

Be responsible for project communication and updates with team and client, and supervisor.

Participate in constructability and budget reviews during project design.

Leadership Roles

Supervise, mentor, and coach support staff.

Support Area Manager and Construction Manager in the development of staff and market sector.

Business Development Roles

Lead marketing/business development activities for transportation CE&I.

Track future opportunities and develop strategy to win opportunities.

Assist in making go/no-go decisions on RFP's and RFI's.

Develop partnering and teaming strategy.

Leading the development of a proposal with support from JUB's proposal group.

Help grow J-U-B's CE&I market space through collaboration with others doing similar work across Idaho.

Collaborate with other engineers and public agencies (Airports/FAA, Transportation Departments, State, Counties/Cities, FHWA, etc.) on projects.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent is required.

A current Idaho PE license required

Min. 15 years of progressive transportation engineering (construction management) experience

Expertise as a project manager for CE&I required

Experience with ITD and/or LHTAC CE&I required

Proven ability to work with others and to manage project schedules and deliverables.

Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, supporting multiple offices and teams, is required.

Strong communication and writing skills required.

IQP and WAQTC certification are desired but not required.

Salary Range:

$130,000-$175,000 depending on experience.
