Job Description:

Schneider Electric has an exciting opportunity on the Engineer to Order team for a Mechanical Engineer in Columbia, SC. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design and application of Low Voltage switchgear and switchboards based on customer plans and specifications. The ideal candidate will have a BS in Mechanical Engineering and experience with 3D modeling using CREO.

Responsibilities:

  • Audit Bill of Material (BOM) for standard product offerings prior to manufacturing process.
  • Complete new designs to meet customer needs outside of standard product offerings.
  • Create designs using CREO Parametric for 3D modeling.
  • Be involved in various projects intended to improve overall quality, efficiency, and/or robustness of products.
  • Demonstrate effective time management to maintain schedules and a high level of customer service.
  • Interact with field sales personnel, project managers, end users and plant manufacturing associates.
  • A BS in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience in the manufacture or design of electrical distribution equipment is a plus.
  • 3D modeling experience
  • The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, inter-personal skills, and a strong initiative to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
