RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Creating job orders and bill of materials to route test specimens through the testing laboratory.
- Reviews orders and bill of materials for accuracy prior to releasing the job to the shop floor.
- Reviewing purchase orders and material specifications to ensure accuracy.
- Assuring that test fixtures are available to perform testing.
- Collaborate with other internal business areas to determine instructions for the bill of materials.
- Capable of creating standardized work instructions to ensure accuracy of information.
- Specifying machining processes.
- Re-assigning item codes and bill of materials when necessary.
- Continuously updating and maintaining the specification library.
- Assisting with recording data in the proper format.
- Ensuring traceability and identification on all pieces of material.
- Prioritize and manage daily flow of work to machine shop and destructive test labs.
- Oversee processing of orders requiring destructive and non-destructive testing.
- Analyze material and customer specifications to determine testing requirements.
- Interact with technical experts to confirm specimen preparation and testing methods.
- Advise sales department and customers on testing and machining requirements.
- Create machining operation plans and technical drawings for non-standard specimen extraction.
- Setup machining and testing routing, track specimens and material and provide accurate status and timeline updates for multi-step testing projects.
- Use available technology & tools to improve productivity and accuracy of daily order processing.
- Understands and complies with LTIs QA Program at all times.
- Follows all safety rules and regulations; utilizes personal protective equipment.
- Maintains assigned work area(s) in a clean, organized, and safe condition at all times.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- No prior experience (required). 1-3 years of related experience (Preferred).
- Bachelor's Degree (BS) from a four-year college or university, in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Process Engineering, or Industrial Engineering (required).
- Computer skills required: Enterprise Resource Planning Systems, Inventory Software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Other skills required: Mechanical aptitude and the ability to read and interpret drawing and specifications.
- Must be a US Citizen or possess a valid Green Card.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, carry and/or move varying weight, up to 75 pounds.
