Description
Interact with regulatory agencies, certification bodies, and industry groups to stay up to date of changes in safety standards. Coordinate and facilitate product certification processes to ensure compliance.
Plan and oversee product testing procedures to assess safety features and compliance. This may involve coordinating with testing laboratories, analyzing test results.
Work closely with product design and engineering teams to integrate safety features into product designs. Provide recommendations and guidance to mitigate potential risks during the development phase.
Knowledge and understanding on the agency technical reports, test reports, specifications, and procedures. Maintain Technical documentation file for CE.
Shall be subject matter expert and provide guidance to the internal teams on the interpretation of technical/standard requirements to be applied for each various product as per standard /country regulations/agency requirements.
Resolve follow-up service, inspector variation notices from the agency
Exposure to UL & IEC Appliance product standards is an added advantage.
Exposure to DOE and EnergyStar testing/requirements is an added advantage.
Exposure to FCC/EMC standards and testing, requirements for RoHS, REACH, Prop65
Product Certification for various countries is an added advantage.
Requirements
Minimum eight years total experience in progressively responsible positions in the field of specialty.
Minimum four years experience in a design-engineering environment dealing with electro-mechanical development projects.
Proficient designing molded parts, sheet metal parts, and assemblies.
Minimum of four years experience with solid modeling CAD development tools.
Experience with Solid Designer, preferred.
Extensive knowledge of various types of manufacturing equipment and the limitations.
Must be able to design for reliability in harsh environments and for agency (UL, CE, FCC) approvals.
Minimum two years working experience in a lead role in a mechanical design team.
Experience working with other engineers and designers to define constraints and requirements.
Experience in LEAN environment, a plus.
Proven analytical skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
Solid organizational abilities, attention to detail.
Proficient in the knowledge and use of MS Office (Word, Excel).
Experience with refrigeration design
