POSITION DESCRIPTION Position Title: Mechanical Engineer Department: Product Development Classification: Exempt - Full-Time Approved By: Human Resources REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS Position Reports To: Vice President of Engineering Positions Supervised: None POSITION PURPOSE The Mechanical Engineer for EOTECH, LLC in Plymouth, MI will design and test all aspects of mechanical equipment and machinery. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES Develop cutting-edge electro-optical devices, integrating optical, mechanical, and electronic components. Works with a design team to create design sketches, layouts, and plans. Uses computer-assisted design (CAD) software to create preliminary and detailed drawings of the product. Produces specifications for products and chooses raw materials and components to be used in production. Builds models and prototypes of the product and tests the design. Studies the test data and makes comparisons with similar designs. Develops control systems and monitors production. Maintain high level of technical competence and state-of-the-art awareness. JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required; Master's degree preferred Two to four years of related experience preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent mechanical and technical skills. Proficient with computer-assisted design (CAD) software. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Schedule: 9/80 work schedule Monday - Friday Overtime may be required as assigned
