Duration: 6 months +

Projects: Multiple Projects (depending on project experience)

Work Schedule: 44 and 36 hours every 2 weeks with one Friday off


Work Location: Calgary office (Client does not offer hybrid and require them to be physically working in the office)

Electrical Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity to join our global EPC client as an Intermediate Electrical Engineer! In this role, you would have the chance to join a vibrant team that blends engineering, design, and leadership skills to effectively support its clients.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and validate electrical calculations such as short circuit analysis, relay coordination, voltage drop, cable derating, and cable pulling tension, utilizing both computer-aided tools (ETAP/SKM) and manual techniques.
  • Develop specifications, data sheets, and technical bid evaluations for electrical equipment including power transformers, medium and low voltage switchgear, medium voltage starters, motor control centers, variable frequency drives, large synchronous and induction motors, electrowinning rectifiers, and power factor correction capacitors.
  • Examine and verify vendor data and interdisciplinary drawings.
  • Support the Lead Engineer with tasks related to scheduling, estimating, material forecasting, progress reporting, meetings, and procurement activities


Basic Job Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience in designing heavy industrial engineering projects.
  • Registered as a P. Eng or licensed professional in Canada.
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or an equivalent qualification for non-registered Electrical Specialists.
  • Knowledgeable about the Canadian Electrical Code, relevant regulations, and industry standards.
  • Demonstrated history of increasing responsibility and effective problem-solving skills.
