Your Role
As an Electrical Engineer, you'll take charge of key electrical and control elements, ensuring efficient system performance, safety, and scalability. Your responsibilities include:
- Electrical System Design - Develop layouts, select control components, and program systems for optimal performance.
- Power Conversion & Distribution - Design and implement AC to DC rectifier systems for industrial applications.
- Arc Flash Safety & Compliance - Ensure designs meet Arc Flash safety standards, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies.
- Automation & Instrumentation - Design, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC & SCADA systems (Siemens, Ladder Logic, Function Block).
- Testing & Implementation - Support product testing, field installations, commissioning, and maintenance.
- Manufacturability & Quality - Ensure designs align with manufacturing, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Technical Leadership - Guide electricians, troubleshoot component failures, and provide innovative engineering solutions.
What You Need
- Five or more years of hands-on experience in electrical engineering, automation, and process equipment installation
- Expertise in AC to DC rectifiers and power distribution systems
- Knowledge and application of Arc Flash safety regulations and mitigation strategies
- PLC and HMI/SCADA programming expertise (Siemens preferred)
- Experience in the hydrogen and/or natural gas industries (preferred but not required)
- Knowledge of hazardous area codes and standards
- Strong CAD skills and familiarity with ERP and quality management systems
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, plus P.Eng. designation
