Job Title: Electromagnetic Compatibility Engineer
Location: Dahlgren, VA (On-site)
Clearance: Secret eligible
Compensation: $80,000-$140,000 (based on experience)
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Active or interim Secret DoD clearance
- 1+ year demonstrated experience (OR school based knowledge for junior role) with electromagnetic environment effects (E3) engineering to include: electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), electromagnetic interference (EMI), EMI/EMC testing & analysis, and use of Radio Frequency (RF) equipment.
- Experience with MATLAB modeling and simulation software
- Experience doing Mod/Sims on data sets on electromagnetic engineering
- Experience characterizing EMI/EMC issues of fielded systems & field fixes
- Experience analyzing and identifying EMC vulnerabilities of the systems being tested
- Ability to be on site 5 days per week

Job Description
A client in Dahlgren, VA, is seeking an Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Engineer to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center Electromagnetic & Sensor Systems Department. Candidate will support the test, evaluation & integration efforts of Navy electromagnetic and sensor systems. Candidate must have electromagnetic environment effects (E3) engineering knowledge to include electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), electromagnetic interference (EMI), EMI/EMC testing & analysis, use of Radio Frequency (RF) equipment.
This position will be focusing on modeling and simulations using electromagnetic theory. They will be importing data sets from excel into MATLAB and other tools in order to run simulations, modeling interactions, create graphs, etc, and then analyze that data and those outcomes.
