LHH is working with a mechanical contracting company who specializes in HVAC and Plumbing systems design, construction, retrofit, repair, and 24/7 emergency service for commercial and industrial properties. These positions can sit in either San Jose or Alameda, CA! The client is open to relocation. The Lead Engineer role is fully onsite and is salaried. The Sr Mechanical Engineer role is hourly and hybrid.
Responsibilities
- Work with Project Managers and the engineering staff to prepare or refine the project scope
- Provide technical direction to Team Leads and more Junior Engineers to ensure work is completed properly
- Present and explain proposals, systems, findings and options to clients, general contractors and engineers
- Review an evaluate existing mechanical systems and provide energy and/or performance solutions
- Be called in as a kety technical resource
- Create and timely deliver on all aspects of a projects design
- Evaluate the feasibility of new equipment or modifying existing systems considering costs, available space, time limitations, energy goals, project timeline and related economic factors
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in the commercial construction space. Preferably someone that comes from the HVAC contracting industry.
- HVAC and plumbing experience
- Needs to be able to run projects on their own and mentor more Jr Engineers
- Needs to have experience using AutoCAD and Trace 700. Experience with Revit would be nice to have.
- Must have experience with Load calculation
- EIT would be nice to have
