Electrical Engineer

La Porte, TX


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:


The Electrical Engineer performs a wide range of duties including some or all of the following:


Prepare concept, schematic design, design development and construction documents.

Design switchgear, substations, transformers, Remote Instrument Enclosures, and Building power systems.

Conduct code research and incorporate applicable requirements into the design.

Conduct material research and compile data for the project.

Conduct field surveys. Prepare project specifications.

Communicate with project team and coordinate work.

Develop cost estimates and proposals.

Participate in presentations to customers.

Experience with instrumentation, control system design or configuration a plus.

Electrical Heat Tracing experience is a plus.


Requirements:


The Electrical Engineer (Engineering Specialist) requirements include, but are not limited to, the following:


10+ Years of Experience

BS in Electrical Engineering

Professional License (Electrical) in state of Texas

Strong experience with ETAP Electrical Power System Analysis software

Experience with SKM Electrical Software a plus

Experience with power distribution and subsystems, including 480V and 13kV

Demonstrated experience in technical execution on both FEL/FEED and EPC projects in the chemical and petrochemical industry.

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Experience estimating labor and material efforts and preparing proposals related to Electrical Engineering jobs is a plus

Self-motivating, self-managing individual


Working conditions are as follows:


Position Type: Full-Time

Core Hours: Monday - Thursday 7:00 am to 5:30pm

Overtime: Occasionally (Straight time rate)

Range: Permanent

Travel: up to 50%
