We are looking for a Senior Transportation Project Engineer to enhance our expanding team in either Columbia or Charleston, South Carolina. This position presents an exciting opportunity for experienced engineers who excel in teamwork and are eager to create innovative transportation solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the design of a variety of transportation projects, including highways, roadway corridors, interchanges, widening initiatives, and safety improvements.
  • Manage projects and tasks for the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) along with municipal clients.
  • Collaborate with diverse teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members to ensure the successful completion of projects.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in South Carolina or the ability to obtain licensure within 6 months.
  • A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in transportation and roadway design on relevant projects.

Ideal Candidate Will Possess The Following:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of SCDOT processes, including concept development, plan preparation, specifications, and engineering cost estimates.
  • Experience in roadway plan production and design development.
  • Strong verbal communication and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation and Geopak/OpenRoads Designer.
  • Familiarity with SCDOT Standards, AASHTO Roadside Design Guide, MUTCD, ADA, PROWAG, and other regulatory guidelines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A valid driver's license.
