Job Description:
Electrical Engineer
RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare and review calculations, drawings, technical specifications, procurement documents, and other materials for procurement and construction purposes.
Design, develop, validate, and oversee the installation of electrical equipment and systems.
Contribute to multidisciplinary projects by preparing electrical designs and concepts for electrical power and distribution systems.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and owners to develop design concepts.
Handle the design of lighting, modeling, fire alarms, communications systems, process control, and power distribution up to 44kV.
Project management for electrical infrastructure projects and power systems.
Analyze technical problems and provide recommendations and solutions.
Prepare specifications, contract documents, and engineering progress reports, and ensure all designs conform to applicable codes and client standards.
Develop detailed designs for high and low voltage system requirements in primary and secondary power distribution.
Conduct applied research to provide optimal solutions for clients.
Travel to construction sites to perform inspections and prepare reports.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution.
Licensed professional engineer in good standing with the Professional Engineers Ontario.
A minimum of three (3) years of hands-on engineering experience in construction, consulting, or a related field.
Strong knowledge and experience with industrial HVAC controls and the Ontario Electrical Safety Code.
Proficiency in trade-off analysis and the design of electrical systems.
Ontario Ministry of Labor Pre-Start Health and Safety Review.
Experience with industrial HVAC controls.
Intricate distribution systems and cogeneration integration.
Familiarity with NBC, ABC, and OBC building codes.
AutoCAD and Revit experience.
