Electrical Engineer


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and review calculations, drawings, technical specifications, procurement documents, and other materials for procurement and construction purposes.
  • Design, develop, validate, and oversee the installation of electrical equipment and systems.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary projects by preparing electrical designs and concepts for electrical power and distribution systems.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and owners to develop design concepts.
  • Handle the design of lighting, modeling, fire alarms, communications systems, process control, and power distribution up to 44kV.
  • Project management for electrical infrastructure projects and power systems.
  • Analyze technical problems and provide recommendations and solutions.
  • Prepare specifications, contract documents, and engineering progress reports, and ensure all designs conform to applicable codes and client standards.
  • Develop detailed designs for high and low voltage system requirements in primary and secondary power distribution.
  • Conduct applied research to provide optimal solutions for clients.
  • Travel to construction sites to perform inspections and prepare reports.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Licensed professional engineer in good standing with the Professional Engineers Ontario.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of hands-on engineering experience in construction, consulting, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with industrial HVAC controls and the Ontario Electrical Safety Code.
  • Proficiency in trade-off analysis and the design of electrical systems.
  • Ontario Ministry of Labor Pre-Start Health and Safety Review.
  • Experience with industrial HVAC controls.
  • Intricate distribution systems and cogeneration integration.
  • Familiarity with NBC, ABC, and OBC building codes.
  • AutoCAD and Revit experience.
